Muslim boy names taken from the Quran: the words that name a quality, a virtue or a blessing, and the names of the prophets. For each one, the meaning in English, the root and the verses where it appears.
Method
The words come from the morphological analysis of the Quranic Arabic Corpus (nouns, adjectives, participles, verbal nouns), picked by hand for their positive meaning. Related words are grouped under one name and the counts cover all of them. Divine names that are not given on their own (al-Raḥmān, al-Khāliq…) have been left out; adjectives shared by God and people are kept with a note. For the prophets, only mentions of their name are counted, not their titles. The meaning of a prophet's name is given only when a classical dictionary explains it.
