Salam aleikum to you and your child :)
Here is a super cool activity your child will want to do again and again. Hands-on crafts are wonderful moments for discussion and learning with your child. For example, with this one, it’s a great opportunity to talk about Tawaf during the pilgrimage to Mecca, or about the stories of our prophets Muhammad (sws) or Ibrahim (ws).
Black crepe paper
Yellow crepe paper
White modeling clay
Scissors
Cardstock paper
A pencil or a pen
A ruler
A compass
Two small containers
Markers or crayons
1-Draw a circle on your cardstock and cut it out.
2-Draw a square in the center of the circle.
3-Fill the square with white modeling clay, making sure to spread it evenly to the edges.
4-Use the ruler to mark lines showing the door and the yellow stripe of the Ka’ba’s Kiswa.
5-Cut the crepe papers into small squares and place the yellow and black pieces in separate containers.
6-Take a small black or yellow square and press it into the modeling clay using a pencil. Repeat this step to fill in the Ka’ba with black and yellow pieces.
7-Once finished, let your imagination run wild and draw anything you like around the Ka’ba!
